Compensatory software supports UDL

The term UDL (Universal Design for Learning) is becoming more widely used in our education system. The concept of Universal Design originated in the field of architecture. In this context, it means that buildings are designed to enable a wide range of the people to use them at the same time. In other words, it’s about making buildings accessible to as many people as possible.

The concept of Universal Design was later applied to an educational context. The basic premise of UDL, Universal Design for Learning, is to provide flexible options and alternatives that meet the different needs, learning styles and preferences of each pupil.

Our aids are in line with the principles of UDL , as they make printed and digital materials available to everyone, even people with a learning disability. Our compensatory software supports a multi-sensory approach.

The subject matter is transferred via different senses, both visual and auditory. Language and symbols are clarified with the use of dictionaries, images and synonyms. Comprehension of the learning materials is stimulated in different ways, such as through highlighting and the use of encyclopaedias and so forth.
