KNFB Reader 3.0 now available

16/05/2018

Award-winning ‘KNFB Reader’ makes life of people with low vision,
dyslexia and even that of people learning a foreign language easier.

New layout and other enhancements make app even more useful, also for struggling readers.

The award-winning ‘KNFB Reader’, which quickly converts printed text to speech or Braille, just gota major update.
Launched in 2014, the app has helped tens of thousands of blind and low-vision people to read letters, brochures, product labels,
restaurant menus, etc. without any assistance. With enhanced performance, easier navigation and a new look and feel,
version 3.0 lifts user-friendliness to a whole new level.

KNFB Reader features the best OCR (optical character recognition) technology available and
uses patented image detection technology to quickly and easily detect and decipher printed text anywhere, anytime.
Its performance and user-friendliness have made it a trusted companion for people who have difficulty reading printed text.
They expressed their appreciation by voting KNFB Reader as a winner of an AppleVis Golden Apple Award for three years on end (2014, 2015 and 2016).
When building version 3.0, developers stretched every nerve to further improve the app’s text recognition performance and user-friendliness.

Faster, easier plus PDF and ePub format

Version 3.0 sports a whole new look and feel to help users work better and faster.
Navigation within the app is easier, with tabs at the bottom of the home screen to access the major screens and functions quickly and easily.

In addition to the industry-leading print recognition and conversion technology that users already love, KNFB Reader 3.0 now reads e-books and documents in the increasingly popular ePub format, as well as PDFs (image or text, tagged or untagged). This makes it ideal for students and professionals who must read content in multiple formats from multiple sources. The app is also customizable, so that people can tailor its settings to meet their needs (reading speed, font, etc.). It is available in 14 user interface languages and is able to read documents in up to 33 different languages.

KNFB Reader is built by Sensotec, in close cooperation with the US-based National Federation of the Blind. Mark Riccobono, the Federation’s President: “We have learned that,
as with many accessible technologies, our leading-edge reading solutions benefit more than just blind people. KNFB Reader 3.0 represents the continued evolution of this technology,
which now has more features fitting a wider variety of users than ever.”

KNFB Reader 3.0 is now available in the Apple App Store. The update is free for existing customers. New customers can purchase the app at USD 99,99 / EUR 109,99.
