my Board Buddy is the solution for visually impaired children and young people in mainstream education.

The my Board Buddy creates a vibration-free, maximally enlargeable duplicate of the digital (smart) board or any other projection while retaining image quality and the possibility of colour manipulation. In other words, a digital magnifier for the smartboard.

Existing school systems with screen magnifier and camera are indispensable for magnifying analogue information, e.g. chalkboard, and for classroom or meeting experience and functioning such as teacher’s facial expressions, fellow students, corner work, etc.

Today, the digital blackboard or smartboard can no longer be left out of the classroom, but with smartboard magnification by camera or splitter, there is a quality issue. In that case, My Board Buddy is the ideal supplement.

Sensotec developed my Board Buddy primarily for school applications, but it can also be used during meetings / presentations for participants with a visual impairment.

Existing solutions do not always satisfy 100%… What are the problems?

When magnifying the smartboard by means of a camera :

• poor image quality, many pixels & insufficient contrast
• every tap or movement is magnified and creates vibrations and blurred images
• position towards the (smart)board or projection is crucial: the user cannot take place where he or she sees fit

 When duplicating 1:1 through a splitter :

• no magnification or color manipulation possible

They magnify the smartboard on a nearby monitor or tablet and can magnifie or reduce the image and adjust the color contrast thanks to the intuitive remote control or finger movements on the touchscreen.

 

 

2. Visually impaired employees

Visually impaired employees who always attend presentations or hybrid meetings can use the my Board Buddy.

A tablet or monitor is installed close to them on which the employee can magnifie or reduce the image and adjust the color contrast. This is done using a 
user-friendly control with joystick and clear buttons or finger movements on the touchscreen.
